Interpretive Naturalist
Guides take visitors on excursions into the Okefenokee Swamp via motorized boat, canoe/kayak, train, bike or walking trails. Guides will provide interpretation while operating a motorized boat or a canoe/kayak and must be able to enhance the visitors’ experience through skilled operation when encountering wildlife (safely maneuvering and positioning the boat for photographs and interpretation). A variety of weather conditions must be tolerated. Excellent public speaking skills are a must- guides must be able to comfortably speak to (and answer questions for the standard tours of up to ninety minutes, but may occasionally give longer tours. Skillful interpretation, performed in a variety of methods and techniques, is paramount to the visitors’ tour experience to provide a deeply informative and enjoyable experience in the Okefenokee.

Guest Services Associate
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position and based on seasonal needs. A Customer Service Associate (CA) at the Okefenokee Swamp Park or Okefenokee Adventures is responsible for welcoming each guest with excitement and enthusiasm, and helping them determine the best outdoor experiences in and around the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. This position requires interaction with the guests… both in person and on the telephone. An attention to detail with an extreme customer service focus is a requirement for the effective execution of this position. CA’s must abide by the guidelines set by the General Managers (GM) and in alignment with the contractual covenants set by the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. This position must be able to sell tickets, packages, souvenirs and food items. Proficiency in handling cash is a must.

Nature Center Animal Care Specialist
The Nature Center Attendant may provide interpretation through interaction and presentations to the Okefenokee Swamp Park guests. The Nature Center Attendant must balance between what is best for the resident ambassador animals and the guests in each presentation. Safety of both guest and ambassador animals must be at the forefront of every interaction. A variety of weather conditions must be tolerated. Public speaking skills are a must- guides must be able to comfortably speak to (and answer questions from) the public for the standard tours of up to 45 minute experiences, but may occasionally have to give longer educational tours. Skillful interpretation, performed in a variety of methods and techniques, is paramount to the visitors’ tour experience to provide a deeply informative and enjoyable experience in the Okefenokee.
